AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She also captains San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division for women's soccer in the United States. From 2018 until 2020, she was a co-captain of the US women's national team, along with Megan Rapinoe. [8][98][9] Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there and was instrumental in the team's winning the league title. Morgan was just 22 when she was chosen to be part of the team of the nation in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and they finished in second place. In 2012's London Olympics she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final game against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. It made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to score 20 goals in a single season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019. Morgan was selected to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
