Her career began at the age of 12 when she was a part of an onstage production of 'Amahl and the Night Visitors, a Christmas opera. She continued to play in the theatre, and eventually landed roles on both the small and the big screens. Nowadays, McCormack is recognized as one of the best performers in Hollywood.
